About Cat
I studied Drama at the University of Hull and have been a professional performer for thirty years. I began as a singer, moved into Theatre in Education then discovered performance storytelling in 1997. Since then, I have toured the world as a storyteller and educator. I tell stories for adults as well as children.
My work is incredibly varied. I perform in schools, theatres, community venues and theatres, at family festivals and literary festivals. I have told stories on BBC radio. I have worked for the British Council in Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Kazakstan, promoting the art of British storytelling. I have collaborated with the mighty folk band Bellowhead to create a family show for the South Bank London. I have worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company, devising stories for families based on RSC Costume Department archives. For fifteen years, I have been the resident spooky storyteller for families at Blenheim Palace.
I am also a best-selling children's author and poet. You can read more about this here: catweatherillauthor.com
